Cheri Bryant-Hamilton
Cheri Bryant Hamilton is a lifelong Louisville resident, respected civic leader, and dedicated advocate for community development, education, and historic preservation. A proud third- generation Fiskite and graduate of Fisk University Class of ‘72, home of the world-renowned Fisk Jubilee Singers®, she brings a deeply personal connection to Jubilation! Ambassadors On A Sacred Journey and the enduring legacy of one of America’s most influential musical and cultural institutions.
Her connection to the exhibition is also a family legacy. Cheri’s uncle, Attorney Hubert Bryant, Fisk University Class of 1952, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, was a member of the Fisk Jubilee Singers®, further strengthening her family’s enduring ties to the University’s rich musical heritage and the remarkable story celebrated through this nationally acclaimed exhibition.
Hamilton earned her Juris Doctor from North Carolina Central University School of Law and an honorary Doctor of Humanities from Simmons College of Kentucky. She served Louisville with distinction for nearly two decades on the
Louisville Metro Council, representing District 5 from 2002 to 2019, where she held numerous leadership positions,
including President Pro Tem and the first Democratic Caucus Majority Leader. Throughout her public service career, she championed economic development, neighborhood revitalization, youth initiatives, cultural preservation, and
transformative investments that strengthened West Louisville.
A lifelong champion for civil rights, education, historic preservation, and civic engagement, Hamilton has dedicated more than five decades to public service, serving on numerous boards and commissions while preserving and documenting the rich history of Louisville’s African American community.

combined with her deep Fisk roots and her family’s connection to the Fisk Jubilee Singers®, make her an inspiring

Dr. Corrie Shull
Rev. Dr. Daniel Corrie Shull is a respected pastor, educator, and community leader whose work reflects a deep commitment to faith, education, youth, and community engagement. A proud 2009 graduate of Fisk University, home of the world-renowned Fisk Jubilee Singers®, he brings a meaningful personal connection to Jubilation! Ambassadors On A Sacred Journey and the enduring legacy of faith, perseverance, education, and service embodied by the original singers.
Pastor Shull serves as Senior Pastor of Burnett Avenue Baptist Church and Chair of the Jefferson County Board of Education. A strong advocate for public education and young people, his leadership extends across faith,
education, and community life. He has championed initiatives that support youth development, academic enrichment, mental health, and greater opportunity for children and families.
An educator, author, and mentor, Pastor Shull holds degrees from Fisk University, Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary, and Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School. His leadership, influence, and commitment to faith, education, and community make him an exceptional Honorary Co-Chair and spokesperson for this nationally significant exhibition.
