This workshop will focus on how one might find enslaved Kentucky ancestors using online databases developed by the local non-profit organization Reckoning, Inc. It is recommended that participants have either attended the previous workshop, “Introduction to African American Genealogy,” or otherwise have some experience with genealogical research.
This workshop will be conducted by Denyce Peyton, a professional genealogist with over 25 years of experience who is currently project director for Reckoning, Inc.’s Kentucky U.S. Colored Troops Project.
